When I was a kid and my grandfather sold pumps for hot oil trucks throughout the Permian Basin, I loved riding with him in his truck through the small towns to meet with people and deliver the pumps.
These were hardworking people. They toiled away sunup to sundown in the oil patch. This region of the country can be a hard place, and you have to be tough to make it work.
But there’s something special about the strength, the will, and the work ethic of people willing to call this place home.
