Clark
Harmonson

I’ve always been a bit of a down home kind of guy.

When I was a kid and my grandfather sold pumps for hot oil trucks throughout the Permian Basin, I loved riding with him in his truck through the small towns to meet with people and deliver the pumps.

These were hardworking people. They toiled away sunup to sundown in the oil patch. This region of the country can be a hard place, and you have to be tough to make it work.

But there’s something special about the strength, the will, and the work ethic of people willing to call this place home.

That’s why I’ve built my legal career around working for the people of this community.

In 1997, I graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. A few years later, I went on to the South Texas College of Law in Houston, where I graduated second in my class.

Almost immediately, I was offered a job right there in Houston, with one of the biggest law firms in Texas.

But the job was representing insurance companies and large corporations against injury claims.

It felt wrong to be on the other side of the courtroom when the people dealing with these realities had so few resources. It felt wrong to be representing the big guys against the people.

That wasn’t why I started my legal career.

I wanted to know each and every one of my clients on a first-name basis. I wanted to hear stories about their parents and grandparents, about their hopes and dreams for the future.

I wanted to get back to my roots.

In 2004, I gave up big city life without much of a second thought to pursue the other side of the coin -- fighting to provide injured parties the fair compensation and justice they deserve.

When my team works with a client, we don’t just ask them to sign some papers and never talk to them again. When our clients come into our fold, they become a part of the family. We work with them to take care of their immediate needs and fight for a future they can feel confident about.

Because the people in this region know what hardship is. They’ve also got the power to buck up and fight for what’s theirs.

And I’m here to help them do it.
